Our Youth focussed day at OPEN Symposium 2024 brought together voices from across Victoria to focus on innovative solutions for youth challenges, including housing, education, and mental health. Kicking off the day, our friends at YACVic led this session on youth-centered advocacy and engagement, setting the tone for a day of powerful insights and transformative ideas.
From initiatives like youth-designed support hubs to holistic early intervention and prevention pathways, each presentation highlighted the importance of listening to young people’s voices in shaping programs that meet their needs and reflect their experiences.

In this session from the Open Symposium, Project Rockit spotlighted innovative, youth-centered approaches to creating change. Dan Donohoo and Lamisa Shah, shared insights on empowering young voices through truly listening to youth perspectives, with examples like designing merchandise based on their feedback.
