Leah*, a mother of three young children entered The Orange Door due to multiple family violence incidents involving her husband. A collaborative approach provided Leah and her children with essential support.
Addressing complexity
Harriet*, a mother of two children experienced ongoing violence from two previous partners. Safety planning, therapeutic interventions and coordinated case management improved outcomes for Harriet and her children.
A coordinated, multidisciplinary response
Sue* and her transgender son Andy* experienced violence by Sue’s partner. Coordinated efforts of practitioners led to positive outcomes for the family.
A client-centred approach
Adam* and Zoe* were struggling as young parents living in a youth refuge. Adam had been increasingly violent toward Zoe. A specialist family violence lens was used to identify the risk for both Zoe and her twins.
Trauma-informed care and streamlined communication
Sam*, a First Nations woman in her sixties experienced multiple instances of family violence and sexual assault. A coordinated response involving various services and advocacy addressed Sam’s trauma and housing instability.

Susan*, a 40-year-old mother of six received coordinated support for numerous challenges including health, social difficulties and legal concerns, leading to significant improvements in her and her children’s wellbeing.
Perspectives from a Young Men’s Behaviour Change Group

Their stories demonstrate how timely, coordinated and relationship-based support can help create pathways to accountability, safety and lasting change when opportunities for intervention arise.
