New Keynote – Dr Penny Hagen

We’re delighted to announce Dr Penny Hagen (NZ), Director of the Auckland Co-Design Lab, as a keynote speaker at the OPEN Symposium 2025. Penny is a leader in participatory design and systems change, working with communities, governments and organisations to design with – not just for – children, families and practitioners. Her keynote will challenge us to think differently about collaboration, equity and the role of lived experience in shaping better outcomes. Penny’s expertise will bring fresh insight to this year’s theme, Collaborative practice: Working in partnership with children and families.

The OPEN Symposium 2025 program is now live! Keynote announcement!

We are proud to welcome Professor Alina Morawska as the first keynote for the OPEN Symposium 2025.

As Director of the Parenting and Family Support Centre at The University of Queensland, Professor Morawska is recognised internationally for her research on parenting, child development, and family wellbeing. Her keynote will highlight the role of evidence-based approaches in creating better outcomes for children and families.
