Workshop Highlights:

Mindful, the Centre for Training and Research in Developmental Health, is a Victorian statewide unit responsible for postgraduate education, professional development, training, and research in child and adolescent mental health. Jointly managed by the University of Melbourne and Monash University, Mindful offers advanced training programs and postgraduate degrees. Some of their training offerings include:

  • Mindful Introduction to Infant Mental Health (MIIMH)
    A half-day, online, on-demand training course providing an introduction to the ideas, research and clinical practice concerning the mental health and wellbeing of children 0-5 years and their families/carers.
  • Mindful – Tuning into Kids
    Facilitator training for Tuning into Kids™, Dads Tuning into Kids™ and Tuning into Teens™. This is an evidence-based parenting model that strengthens the relationship between children and carers.
  • Yarning Up On Trauma
    Within this program delivered across Australia, participants explore the nature and effects of trauma, including its physical, social, emotional, and spiritual impacts, with a specific focus on Aboriginal history. Over four days, the program maps the history of colonisation, stolen generations, disadvantage, and institutionalised racism to contextualise current trauma in Aboriginal communities.
  • Trauma-informed care – Supporting Workplace Wellbeing
    This course emphasises Trauma-Informed Care for professionals working in environments affected by trauma. It teaches principles of trauma-informed care and skills to create supportive policies, procedures, and environments, focusing on the wellbeing of the workforce.
  • Trauma-informed training
    Wagtails Institute supports practitioners in enhancing their trauma-informed practice through current theory, research, and strategies. The training focuses on supporting healing for clients impacted by trauma and enhancing staff’s own regulation strategies.
