Each year Blue Light Victoria provide programs and activities for thousands of young people across Victoria. What we offer is unique, creative, empowering and grounded in building positive connections between young people and their community.
DASH is an in-school, whole-class program for upper primary school students that aims to increase student wellbeing and improve community connectedness. As part of their learning students develop a real-life practical project to address a community concern and engage with our partners across police, emergency services and community organisations to implement the project.
A multi-year independent evaluation (Button & Clarke 2024) found DASH is excelling, is emotionally, psychologically, and physically safe for students and promotes an atmosphere of inclusion, connection, and belonging. Feedback from students, teachers and community partners was overwhelmingly positive with teachers and community partners all saying the program exceeded their expectations.
