At this event the Family Violence Sexual Violence (FVSV) Knowledge Hub was launched after twelve months of work. Special thanks to all partners Safe & Equal, No to Violence, SASVic, and CFECFW for their collaboration in developing and launching the FVSV Knowledge Hub. To celebrate the occasion, key experts were invited to present on their important work to deliver better outcomes for children, young people and families affected by family and sexual violence.
We were honoured to have Minister Vicki Ward, MP, Minister for Prevention of Family Violence, officially launch the FVSV Knowledge Hub. Key presentations included Professor Fitz-Gibbon’s keynote address, “From Rhetoric to Action,” which stressed the urgency of policy reforms to recognise children as victim-survivors in their own right. Professor Fitz-Gibbon also emphasised the need for a coordinated and evidence-based approach to addressing family and sexual violence.
The REACH project, presented by Sexual Assault Services Victoria (SASVic) focused on promoting healing for Victorian survivors through safety, calm, and community connection, grounded in insights from those with lived experience of sexual violence.
Quantum Support Services shared a dual case management model for young people aged 12-17 experiencing violence at home, aiming to support both youth and caregivers.
The Centre for Multicultural Youth (CMY) presented on culturally responsive practices, emphasising the importance of intersectional, youth-led guidance to better serve multicultural young people affected by family violence.
